What were some of the highlights of the evening as you saw it?

Sharing ideas and participating in all activities with other contestants, and the best of all, was when I was announced winner.

Did you dedicate this win to someone? Who was it, and why?

Yes!! To my Grandmother “Mrs Sina Roberts” who passed away that same morning, also to my whole family who were not able to be at the pageant because of the circumstances.

What were some of the highlights during your reign?

  • Travelling to Kuala Lumpur to represent Samoa in the “Miss Asia Quest”

  • To London for the “Miss World Contest”

  • Meeting all the different girls in the two very different pageants, learning different

  • cultures etc.,

Briefly describe your career path after your reign as Miss Samoa.

  • 1982-1984 / Worked for the Bank of Western Samoa

  • 1984 –1988 / Worked a s flight attendant for “Air Nauru”, and did a lot of travelling 

  • 1988 – 1994 / Worked for the Bank of New Zealand in various branches in Auckland. In the midst of my busy working days, I met Mr. Right and got married in November 1990, and started a family.

  • 1984- present / I moved back to Samoa with my family , for a slower, quieter
    lifestyle.

Briefly tell us what you do at present? (Business, studying etc..)

My husband (Erich Ulberg) and I run a small business “EDRICHA INVESTMENTS LTD” dealing mainly in plumbing and accessories

What do you hope to achieve in the next 5 years

  • To build up our present business and hope to diversify into other business ventures. Hopefully by then I can take a holiday (take a trip around the world)

What is your most valuable advice to young Samoan women in today’s changing Samoan community?

  • To be successful in whatever you do, or whatever you aim to do!! And in order to do
    this you need a good education to battle whatever battles may lie ahead, also to try and remember wherever you are, you are Samoan and to be proud of it.
