This week’s Samoalive Personality of the Week is Taufusi Salesa. Taufusi Salesa was born on the 1st of May 1958; he now resides at the village of Vaivase.

Taufusi Salesa is presently a Rugby Development Officer, promoting rugby in schools for all levels. Taufusi organises and conducts coaching seminars for players and coaches in schools, clubs and provincial unions.

History of your school Days:

      ·       1975: Samoa College 1st XV  (Champion)

      ·       1976: Leulumoega Fou College 1st XV (Champion)

      ·       1978: Avele College 1st XV (Champion)

·     Western Samoa Schools rep tour of New Zealand (Captain)

Main Highlights of your career:

·       Captain first schoolboys team tour of New Zealand 1978

·       Winner ‘Fastest player of the Tournament title”, Hong Kong1979

·       Winner Western Samoa Sportsman of the Year Award 1981

·       Invited to tour South Africa with a World Invitation team 1982

·       Winner SAM Award(Samoan Athletes in Motion, Hawaii) 1982

·       Invited to captain Rest of the World Sevens Team for Sports Aid for South Africa. Cardiff, Wales1986

·       Winning Middlesex Sevens 1992

·       Winning Hong Kong Sevens 1993
